Founded in 1990 for the purpose of trying to understand the mysterous world of the paranormal, my group has done coast to coast investigations and of course our local folklore such as Gurnee's own Mary "Bloody Mary" Worth, the "Gate" in Libertyville to Chicagolands favorite hitchhiking ghost, Resurrection Mary.

A bit about GhostLand Society and how I began in this work. Back in 1992 while in Gettysburg, PA for the filming of the movie by the same title numerous reenactors and myself took advantage of a ghost walking tour. While near Cemetery Ridge and being told how the Federal Army was pushed back to this point we saw a group of Confederates on the battlefield. Now being new to the whole reenacting scene I did know that no one was allowed on the battlefield after 10pm so we attempted to get the attention of these Confederates. While in formation these Johnny Rebs were heading towards us and at that moment we realized they were not what we thought they were.  A strong smell of sulfur and a cold, which cannot be explained came over us, not able to move, not of fear but more of WHAT THE HELL IS THIS kept us there until the vanished in formation less than 5 feet to our front. From that moment I was hooked!

Personal Happenings:

     Over the years I have experienced only a small handful of happenings. Here are the locations:

• And something possibly being  Resurretion Mary, but very unsure.

     Having a degrees in photography and history I was hired to debunk images on film and video. While 95-99.9% of "Ghostly" images and be explained away it still leaves a small percentage that cannot.

After numerous changes I was given GhostLand Society to do what I saw fit. Going from a few investigations in GLS beginning to now over hundreds each year nationwide, I strive to seek truth and set persons minds at ease.

Do I or any member of my investigators push the idea of haunting's, NO! Nor do I assist in making a location "Haunted" as asked by a few businesses to bring in more customers. Also coming up with  the most logical conclusion for the happenings and never claim something that is not is what I stive for. GhostLand Society has not been in good standing for 16 years by making up stories.

All information obtained is held in up most respect to your privacy! I DO NOT disclose any information to anyone including but not limited to Address, Name, location, our findings or lack of without your prior knowledge. 

   GhostLand Society does not nor will ever seek the help from Ouiji Boards, Table tilting, Seances ,Direct Writing or any other ancient ways of contacting the dead!

     I do not condone the use of these items, instead my intent is to either prove or disprove a haunting.

Out of State: Laveau House ,Voodoo Museum, St Louis Cemetery (New Orleans), Johnson's Island (Ohio),   New Jersey Devil (Howell Township), Gettysburg Pa  , Salem Ma  , Inspiration Point (Branson, Missouri),

Badlands National Park, Murfreesboro Tn  , Bell Witch, Eastern State Penitentiary, and many others.
